Liming Ponds with soft, acidic water
some times require the addition
of lime to improve fishing. If
alkalinity is below 20 ppm, add
agricultural limestone to
neutralize the pond bottom. A mud sample should be analyzed
to determine the amount of
lime needed. Lime should be
applied evenly over the entire
pond bottom. Late fall or early
spring is the best time to apply lime. Ponds typically require
